Why should I network? Nowadays, 80% of available jobs are not traditionally advertised. Those jobs are being filled via word of mouth. When an organization needs to hire someone, they go to the people they know and trust and ask them for recommendations. The larger your professional network, the more opportunities you will hear about.

How do I network? Join LinkedIn and start connecting with people. Attend networking events and start meeting people. Reach out to the people in your life (friends, neighbors, teachers, etc.) and ask them for introductions to people they know.
